Look at this beauty! Take a peek at lots more spectacular sawn timber. You’ll find oak, cedar, ash, elm and more, in all kinds of shapes, sizes and grades.
There’s air dried, kiln dried, and semi-seasoned timber to choose from.
If you’d prefer to see our wood in-person, that’s great. You can come and select boards at our sawmill, with the help and guidance of our team – and our forklifts.

Turning pippy oak into a special present
This is a very happy customer, with his stunning pippy oak boards. He’s currently making a table as a wedding gift, and he’s sharing his work in progress on Instagram. We’re really enjoying watching the transformation.

Bringing the sunshine to Brimstone
All of our Brimstone cladding is made from locally-sourced timber. We’ve got a new powerful contributor at our Brimstone processing plant: the sun.
Yes, we’re delighted to say that we’ve just had solar panels fitted at our sawmill. This means the sun’s energy is now helping us to turn local woods into durable and beautiful timber cladding.
Carbon Footprint Webinar
At the recent Alliance for Sustainable Building Process webinar, Tom discussed the results of Vastern Timber’s carbon footprint assessment.
You could say, the results aren’t completely straightforward. As Tom explains: “it’s really hard to say if it’s a ‘good or bad’ number, but when we break it down to greenhouse gases per cubic metre of timber it gets interesting.”
